Creativity is Adventure w— Artist Molly Rose Freeman

Molly Rose Freeman is an artist and designer who centers pattern and color in a lot of her work as a way of celebrating connections and honoring the natural world in her work. Her work is vibrant and very alive and gives us a glimpse into all of the maximalism and LIFE with which she views the world. Today, we talk about rest and engaging with time and expectations in a way that suits our physical + emotional needs. We get into the practices that help her stay brave and resilient within her creative process + profession as well as reframing some of the ways that we experience, fear and navigate through our daily experience. I love any opportunity I get to talk with Molly, and I hope you also enjoy the bounty and vibrancy of her spirit as well.

we discuss

  • How we navigate the nagging feeling that “time is running out”

  • How she has changed her working habits away from burn out and towards curiosity

  • Releasing goals as the only worthwhile pursuits

  • Recognizing the choices (instead of rules) that make up our day and how those can create new systems

  • What happened when she burned out in her professional life

  • How taking time to rest was life-changing (and terrifying)

  • The practices that she uses to cultivate creative bravery and resilience

  • Staying body aware while engaging with social media

  • The importance of celebrating full moments

  • How we both engage with modular scheduling
